Executive Director

A committed executive and enthusiastic innovator always seeing new possibilities in the world around her, Cari is poised to lead the Center for Accounting Transformation and guide accounting professionals into the future. She brings a deep understanding of the profession that inspires her to empower those seeking an alternative to the status quo and accelerate the evolution of the accounting profession.


Cari is an accomplished and committed executive with a deep passion for serving the profession and helping organizations transform. She has been an active change agent throughout her career and has extensive experience in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, obtaining stakeholder buy-off, and leading the charge for organizations and people to make the positive changes that enable that transformation.

Her knowledge and understanding of the profession spans more than 30 years and was largely spent in public accounting ranging from a single owner of a boutique tax practice to a national firm. Prior to taking the reins at the Center, she was the Director of Tax Practice & Ethics for the AICPA. As a member of the accounting profession herself, Cari is energized by the Center’s Tenets and in the opportunity to serve local communities as agents for positive, societal transformation. 

Cari possesses both technical knowledge and know-how around leading practices for a well managed tax firm which will serve her well in her role. As Executive Director for the Center for Accounting Transformation, Cari drives strategy to execution, strengthen overall growth, and establish programs and services, and leads the Center’s team in their purpose of helping CPAs and other financial professionals reach their full potential through a scalable approach to digital transformation that focuses on concepts, competency, and coaching. 

A huge fan of technology, Cari has been a hailed as a CPA who helps organizations thrive, focusing on people first. She is a frequent writer and speaker on tax, ethics, leadership, practice management, technology, and the future of the accounting profession. She can be found actively engaging on Twitter and LinkedIn posting about profession-related issues, and has also been quoted in many news sources including: The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Boston Globe, CNBC, Chicago Tribune, and Time Magazine and actively tweets on profession issues. 

When not working she enjoys spending time with her family in their home in northern Virginia, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
