Cari Weston, MST, CPA, CGMA, is the Executive Director for the Center for Accounting Transformation where she drives strategy to execution, establishes programs and services, strengthens overall growth, and leads the Center’s team in their purpose of helping CPAs and other financial professionals reach their full potential through a scalable approach to digital transformation that focuses on concepts, competency, and coaching.
Cari possesses a deep understanding of the profession that inspires her to empower those seeking an alternative to the status quo and accelerate the evolution of the accounting profession. She is a sought out subject matter expert on the profession and has hosted webinars, given lectures, published articles, and provides thought leadership on an array of subjects related to taxation and modern accounting . Additionally, Cari is a frequent writer and speaker on ethics, leadership, practice management, and the accounting profession and has been quoted in many news sources including: The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, and Time Magazine and actively tweets on profession issues at the handle @CariWestonCPA.
She received her BS in Accountancy and MS in Taxation from the William P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Before taking the helm at the Center for Accounting Transformation, Cari served as the Director of Tax Practice & Ethics for the AICPA. Her knowledge and understanding of the profession spans more than 30 years and was largely spent in public accounting ranging from a single owner of a boutique tax practice to a national firm.
When not working she enjoys spending time with her family in northern Virginia.
