Ellen is a recognized thought leader in accounting AI and innovation and a serial entrepreneur with a passion for supporting innovative technology adoption in the accounting profession.
A Stanford Engineering alumna, she began her career at Google, where she automated finance processes and optimized business performance through working in accounting, FP&A, and internal advisory projects. Her experience with outdated software in the back office ignited her passion for creating delightful, frictionless, high-powered, fully secure, cutting-edge technology solutions that empower the back-office staff.
After earning her Harvard MBA, product leadership roles in Silicon Valley, and selling her b2b SaaS HR tech startup LarkApps, she co-founded Aiwyn, a technology company helping accounting firms modernize their practice management. At Aiwyn, she held roles of Chief Product Officer, COO, and Chief Innovation Officer over a 4+ year period. Aiwyn works with 130+ of the Top 500, has been recognized by Forbes (100 Rising Stars) and Accounting Today (Best Product), and has raised $113 MM led by KKR and Bessemer Venture Partners.
Most recently, she founded and is the CEO of Edgefield Group, a consultancy that supports CPA firms with all things AI, innovation, and technology to drive growth and improve efficiency.
She is part of CalCPA’s Generative AI Task Force and educates accountants on AI regularly via content and speaking at events (i.e. Accounting Today’s AI Summit in Dec 2024 and Accounting Today article – Adopt, test, monitor: Simplifying AI for CPAs).
