Storytelling Force Joins the Center for Accounting Transformation
Veteran videographer brings expert storytelling and tech know-how to the Center’s media and marketing operations.
The Center for Accounting Transformation has recently welcomed a seasoned creative powerhouse to its media and marketing team. Dave Maresca, a name synonymous with innovation and impactful storytelling, brings more than 20 years of experience to the Center.
Maresca discussed how his long-time service to the accounting profession and his passion for filmmaking marry well at the Center.
“Financial goals mean nothing if the people attached to them are not enjoying their lives, not having good lives, or are struggling,” Maresca explained. “That’s why I like what the Center is doing – it’s mostly about people and changing the world around us for the better.”
A Journey Shaped by Creativity and Excellence
A graduate of Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, Maresca pursued an independent major in media studies. Armed with a passion for communication and a flair for creative writing, he embarked on a career that would leave an indelible mark on the world of multimedia production.
Where Creativity Knows No Bounds
Maresca’s tenure as the lead video producer at Hollow9ine Network, Inc. in Hillsdale, New Jersey, has been nothing short of remarkable. At Hollow9ine, he conceptualized and brought to life a diverse array of video and multimedia projects. From thought-provoking keynote pieces to toe-tapping music videos, Maresca’s lens captured it all. His podcast series became a hit among corporate clients, driving revenue and enhancing brand recognition. But it wasn’t just about the technical prowess; Maresca fostered a creative ecosystem that fueled growth. Under his leadership, the podcast network expanded, and video production capabilities soared.
Where Numbers Met Narrative
Maresca’s next chapter unfolded at the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) in New York City. As a producer and video director, he orchestrated award-winning projects that spanned the gamut. Educational videos, professional profiles, and thought-provoking pieces found their way from script to screen with Maresca’s vision and guidance. His studio wizardry extended beyond the camera; he managed end-to-end operations, from casting to non-linear editing. Live webcasts and recruitment campaigns thrived under his guidance, both within the studio walls and at bustling conferences.
A Reunion of Minds
Maresca’s decision to join the Center was more than a career move; it was a reunion. The Center’s Inspiration Architect, Donny Shimamoto, CPA, CITP, CGMA, a familiar face from Maresca’s AICPA days, reached out about a video production opportunity. Their history of collaboration and shared creative vision made the choice clear. Shimamoto’s penchant for out-of-the-box ideas resonated with Maresca, and the prospect of working together again felt like coming home. The Center’s mission of enlightenment and positive impact aligned seamlessly with Maresca’s ethos. He envisions media productions that not only inform but transform—bringing a Zen-like approach to storytelling.
“It’s not only about the people that [the Center is] serving, but also about the people who are doing the service,” Maresca explained, meaning Center clients. “It’s sort of the full 360 approach that is all grounded around the feelings of positivity and hope, and the telling of stories that make people feel like they have an idea of how to make their dreams come true.”
As Maresca settles into his role, the Center anticipates a surge of creativity and a fusion of numbers and narrative. His primary area of focus will be in creative development, video production, and marketing. He can be reached at dave@intraprise.us.
