Starting his career as a CPA, Byron quickly rejected traditional accounting roles to merge his passion for technology with the profession. He founded Simplified Innovations, an IT firm built specifically for CPAs, before expanding his impact at Botkeeper, where he led the adoption of AI to revolutionize bookkeeping. Later, through The B3 Method Institute, he supported leaders in achieving Business, Balance & Bliss.
As the CEO of VERIFYiQ, Byron has transformed how firms handle quality assurance through automated technology. He also co-founded TB Academy, where he equips accountants with generative AI skills to become future-ready, tech-enabled leaders. A nationally recognized speaker and writer, Byron regularly contributes to industry publications like the Journal of Accountancy and shares his expertise at major conferences, making advanced technology approachable and practical for finance professionals.
Byron is also one of the hosts of the Accounting ARC Podcast, alongside Liz Mason and Donny Shimamoto, where he explores the evolving profession and inspires conversations that connect purpose, innovation, and leadership. In addition, he is proud to be an Agent of Transformation with the Center for Accounting Transformation, advancing equity, innovation, and meaningful change across the profession.
Beyond the accounting-tech scene, Byron lives on a horse farm, balancing life with his family, dogs, and horses—all while continuing his mission to help accountants redefine the profession for a new generation.
